Transition Outpost | Retail Sales

Members of the Outpost Sales team operate as the face of Transition Bikes to all our local and visiting customers. Their main responsibility is providing exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all who visit. This position will work directly with customers, offering them knowledge about our company, products, local trails, and general bike knowledge. You will be expected to work with everyone within the company, helping to promote events, organize and lead group rides, all while conducting yourself in a manner that is consistent to the company’s ethos.

Job Duties:

• Provide information about Transition Bikes
• Help customers with general sales
• Setup and assist customers with Demo bikes
• Help maintain the Demo fleet by cleaning and preparing demo bikes
• Tend the bar and serve alcohol and bar snacks to customers
• Assist in stocking, labeling, organizing and merchandising the sales floor and the stockroom
• Provide support for special events
• Monitor and respond to emails and phone calls
• Perform opening and closing duties
• Maintaining a clean and professional work environment
• Other duties as required

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 2+ Years experience in bike industry retail sales (preferred)
• Vast knowledge of mountain bikes, components, and accessories
• Mechanical knowledge of bicycle repair is a plus
• Working weekends is required
• Passion for bikes and positive, collaborative attitude that puts the team and other riders first.
• Good organizational skill and the ability to keep a clean and tidy environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Must have, or be able to earn, a valid M.A.S.T permit to serve Alcohol
• Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, Bellingham, WA.
• Will remain open until the date below or until all positions are filled.

Salary: $41,600
