SUMMARY

Are you an inquisitive engineer with a passion for bikes who is willing to use a hands-on approach to process analysis and improvement? Can you see the risks in a new design and propose ways to eliminate them? Are you passionate about using data to drive product improvements that impact our riders? HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Build safety, quality, and performance into all Specialized products
  • Ensure that products are designed properly, delivered on time, and completed to reduce warranty costs
  • Ensure that the field test program is carried out and leads to successful production approval


  • Design for Quality
  • Lead targeted DFMEAs in New/Unique/Different/Difficult (NUDD) areas of a project
  • Lead Risk Assessments for new products
  • Identify functional, service, reliability, and manufacturability risks for new designs
  • Develop and implement countermeasures for issues identified during FMEA, CCT, Field Testing
  • Be the voice for Quality during development of new product with R&D
  • Build the voice of our riders into new designs and ensure that significant issues are communicated and resolved
  • Communicate feedback from field issues & lessons learned at the start of new projects
  • Build & manage a product validation plans for projects
  • Field testing
  • Actively participate in Field Testing program and ensure field test issues are resolved before production approval.
  • Assign team members to resolve field test problems. Document completed field test work in a summary field test report.
  • Continuous improvements
  • Improve the various Quality processes as needed to ensure success of the Design Quality team
  • Identify possible ways to improve our field test program
  • Participate in or lead NPI process improvement projects

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering in any of the following fields - mechanical, materials, industrial, process or manufacturing engineering
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment with constant innovation and bold timelines
  • Experience working in an R&D environment
  • You’re a passionate cyclist and bike mechanic

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 to 3 years of post-graduate experience in a process development, manufacturing engineering, or quality role
  • Knowledge of formal quality tools and methods for problem solving and process control
  • Experience facilitating risk assessments (FMEA) and leading problem-solving or process improvement teams
  • Experience with outsourced manufacturing, especially with Asian suppliers
  • Ability to read GD&T
