POSITION: E-bike Service Tech Representative
REPORTS TO: E-Bike Business Manager
Job Summary: The E-bike Service Tech Representative is responsible for actions (E-bike service at our best retailers, demo experiences, education, storytelling, and some sales) that attract/drive consumers and retailers to purchase products and services from our E-bike brand portfolio. The E-bike Service Tech Representative will collaborate with the E-bike Business Manager, US Service Supervisor, Regional Sales Managers, Account Executives, Retail Services Executive, Key Retailers and regional Ambassadors in developing an engagement plan which maximizes service/sales results and quality experiences for riders and retailers. You are a key field agent that is ultimately focused on the sales and service development of E-bikes within our retail network and consumers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales and Service Market Development:
* Implement a services cafeteria plan while visiting and interacting with Giant/Liv Retailers and Consumers. Providing both for profit and warranty services, implementing service training, and improving the service outlook for retailers and consumers alike
* Implement experiences and storytelling to strengthen and support key retailers which are identified by the team to create the greatest E-bike service/sales impact
* Plan, execute and promote key regional events and demos to generate product sales by selling local retailer E-bike inventory and/or E-comm inventory
* Train retailers on Giant USA bicycle and gear brands by conducting retail training sessions in key markets
* Provide timely input on key E-bike market development opportunities, E-bike cycling trends, and consumer E-bike buying behavior
Service Platform Development:
* Collaborate with E-bike Business Manager, the US Service Supervisor, and Regional Sales Managers to identify potential service opportunities in key markets to drive E-bike experience selling - test it, buy it, service it!
* Provide training and tips on how to service, assemble, and maintain E-bike demo bikes focused on safety & features; help our retailers service and sell our brands
* Conduct comprehensive bike set up clinics for retail staff focused on proper bike fit and E-bike set up to help our retailers sell more product
* Provide best practice service and sales techniques for retailers to improve service outcomes, increase demo traffic, initiate bicycle sales and add-on opportunities, and improve just in time service options
* Collaborate with our retailers to improve the quality of E-bike service and sales events by inviting local companies, ambassadors, and key guests
Vehicle Maintenance and Transportation:
* Drive dedicated vehicle to events safely and in a timely manner to attract riders to our brand with this rolling development center
* Perform all necessary security precautions with vehicle and products
* Perform daily maintenance and safety checks dedicated to this company vehicle
* Wash truck and vehicle prior to event set-up with the intention of driving consumers to our brand
* Keep up-to-date inventory of items carried in the vehicle as this inventory is your key tool to sell our brands
* Maintain a clean and organized demo space both on the road and in the Giant office
* Conform to federal HOS laws including maintaining a log book and observing work/rest requirements
Sports Marketing and Events:
* Assemble and maintain fleet of bikes
* Maintain bike fleet maintenance log
* Maintaining high standards of organization and personal appearance
* Coordinate logistics of event including applications, permits and fees
* Set-up and tear-down event activation assets
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience in bicycle industry including sales & bicycle mechanic experience, E-bike knowledge and experience a huge plus
- A clean driving record with no history of DUI
- Comfortable with travel and time away from home
- Strong organization and prioritization skills; proven ability to work cross-functionally to accomplish objectives
- Ability to work independently as well as the ability to thrive in a team environment
- Ability to quickly solve multiple problems on-site without becoming flustered
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Advanced bicycle handling skills
- Able to lift up to 100lbs
Travel: Domestic 75%-85% (Southern CA, Venture County / South)
