The Sports Marketing Coordinator will support the Athlete Manager with the ordering and building of athlete bikes; manage the logistics and at-event management of the XC team; be on hand for other SCB events and races. You will be the in-house coordinator of the race and athlete programs and travel for certain events and races. 

Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Coordinate the XC race team logistics and on-site management of racers and mechanics; update and stick to the Race and Racer calendar; will work closely with the Athlete Manager who has overall management and accountability for the team
  • Event activation: represent the brand to the public, pit setup and tear down, organize logistics (often with other team members/departments). You will be the face and voice of Santa Cruz’s No Missed Rides rider support pledge; providing mechanical and product knowledge, advising riders on the best course for success with any issue
  • Data diligence: track and keep tabs on athlete bike and parts orders, track and process product needs of team and riders through the SAP ERP system; you will need to provide insight and advise on dates of receipt for athlete bikes with the Athlete Manager and athletes
  • Build athlete bikes and provide spare parts and shipping logistics for teams and riders
  • Liason for North American ambassadors and athletes to communicate with for their needs and orders
  • Keep inventory tracking records up to date, receive frame, parts and bike orders. You are responsible for organizing team orders effectively and efficiently
  • Track all contracted and non-contracted athlete needs - grassroots to pro, not including Syndicate

Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience of running and coordinating race teams or athletes
  • 3+ years experience of being on-hand at events, knowing how to conduct themselves and represent the brand to the public
  • ERP or CRM experience, advanced computer and organizational skills
  • Professional level bike building and mechanical knowledge
  • Excellent event logistics and presentation skills
  • Self-starter and independent problem-solver
  • Ability to travel 30-40% (including weekends) throughout North America. Must have a valid passport and clean driving record
  • Ability to communicate professionally with athletes, the general public and co-workers

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.
