Kona Bike Shop Manager
Kona Bikes is hiring a shop manager for our flagship store, The Kona Bike Shop, located in beautiful downtown Bellingham, Washington. This is a rare opportunity to help an established brand create the ultimate bike shop experience. Our goal is to be a community hub that provides top-notch service and sales across the cycling disciplines that have defined Kona for 33 years. We are the company that brought you mountain biking before it was cool, hardtails before they were trendy, and gravel bikes before “gravel” was a category.
The Kona Bike Shop Manager will live and breathe our past and present while steering the shop into the future of all things awesome on bikes. Our focus is on the spirit of adventure whether that’s an all-day epic on your mountain bike, or a creative commute to the grocery store. Bikes are fun, and fun is in our DNA.
The Shop Manager will oversee all daily operations surrounding sales, service and facility maintenance.
They will steer the shop employees to lead with exceptional customer service, encourage them to give helpful advice on local rides and community cycling events.
They will ensure a fun and creative work environment is paramount and that every person who walks through the front doors will have a great experience, whether they’re buying a bottle of chain lube or a brand-new bike.
They will have a vast knowledge of our entire lineup of bikes: everything from kid’s bikes, commuters, electric bikes, gravel, and mountain bikes. Every bike is awesome, and every rider deserves the same amount of knowledge and understanding of the bike they’re riding.
Facilitate in-store events (classes, workshops, group rides, etc.)
Ensure on-time delivery of bikes being built and/or serviced
Maintain inventory of bikes and accessories
Manage all shop employees and ensure they are happy with their jobs
Create and implement all employee scheduling
Conduct annual reviews of all shop employees
Work directly with Kona USA to help promote relevant bike models and marketing materials
