Working for Bird
We’re one of the UK’s best loved bike brands, twice winner of the SingleTrack Magazine Best Online Service award. We work hard and play hard, and our lives revolve around bikes. It’s a friendly atmosphere where we don’t take ourselves too seriously but we do look after our customers with passion and pride in what we do.
We look after our staff too, with support for your passion, which is of course mountain biking, including race entry and pit support and generous holiday allowances to enable you to get away and do what you love. We also have an excellent discount and cycle to work scheme running for all staff that cuts the cost of your hobby right down!
This job, like all the jobs at Bird, is ideally suited to someone that wants to pursue a career in the industry with the freedom to ride and race, work in a friendly environment and plenty of opportunity for career development and progression into other aspects of our business.
Moving To The Area
If you’re moving here from outside of the area (subject to agreement of course) we can help you with deposits and recommendations for a stress free move to our location. Consett is perched on the edge of the North Pennines with views from the town centre far into the hills. An easy 2 hour drive to the heart of the Tweed valley, less to lake district, and with its own excellent local riding, Consett is a great place to establish a home and career for yourself. We even have a ski area just up the road with 2 tow lifts and some great skiing this time of year, if you were allowed to of course. As England’s snowiest area you’ll learn to love the snow soon enough if you move here!
It’s affordable to rent or buy, even in the very best areas and you could be living in your own cottage in the Durham Dales with a quick, traffic-free commute, or just up the road from our factory in a stone built terrace for less than a room in a house in other locations.
Post pandemic the nightlife of Newcastle and Durham is easily accessible and provides all the entertainment you could wish for within easy reach.
If you think you could fit into our team, and want to give yourself a new start in one of the few industries booming in these covid times then email us on firstname.lastname@example.org with a copy of your CV and experience, and a covering email telling us why we should be giving you the opportunity for a great career move to work at Bird. Please also include other relevant background information including any social media activity you might find relevant, Roots & Rain link etc.
