In Trek’s Guide Sales Process, the customer is the hero. As a Retail Trainer, your customer will be thousands of retail employees and it’s your mission is to help the hero succeed. Success here means making employees confident and effective in their current job role and developing them along their career path.
A day in the life of a Retail Trainer might mean traveling to a brand-new retail store somewhere in the country to lead training on store culture, operations, and sales process. It might mean visiting an existing store and doing an eight-hour day with more experienced employees training, drilling, and role playing the sales process and refining their skills. It might mean working with a single employee or an audience of 40+. Often it means calling an audible to adapt the training plan, curriculum, or your coaching style to your audience.
When you’re not in the field, you might spend the morning developing curriculum paths, designing role play scenarios, writing scripts, and tracking the progress of employees along their development path. Follow up a busy morning with a lunch ride, before you head to the studio to record a training module that is shared with our worldwide customers.
Training adapts to meet the needs of our customers. This position is equal parts: being a trainer on-location, designing curriculum, creating content, and coordinating training logistics. Required ingredients: energy, empathy, authority, passion and enthusiasm for helping others succeed.

- Training curriculum design
- In-person and virtual sales training
- In-person and virtual operations/Ascend POS training
- In-person and virtual brand/culture training
- Content development (video scripts, storyboarding, print training materials, practice activities/roles plays)
- Coordinate logistics for training programs (travel, scheduling, etc.)
- On-screen talent for video modules
- Up to 50% travel
- Retail experience (bicycle retail experience highly preferred)
- Can command the attention of the room
- Great on-screen presence
- Fun and flexible; can adapt on the fly
